Freeing Women’s Voices

The majority of incarcerated women are abuse survivors, and many also are mothers.

But too often the unique challenges facing women aren’t addressed in jails – or in the larger reform push, advocates and formerly incarcerated women say.

Katherine Fung reports on the fight to help incarcerated women be heard.
